The holiday season is a time for generosity, togetherness, and giving back to those in need. This year, our annual holiday food drive was a tremendous success, thanks to the incredible support of our communities, employees, and customers. Together, we’ve made a meaningful impact, helping food banks across the country provide for individuals and families during a season when demand is especially high.
We’re thrilled to share that, with the support of our parent company Make Space, this year’s food drive collected and contributed an amazing $44,000, surpassing last year’s total of $36,500! Every one of our teams across the country exceeded their fundraising goals from the previous year, showcasing their dedication and the power of teamwork. Alongside the financial contributions, thousands of non-perishable food items were collected and donated to local food banks, ensuring that shelves were stocked with essentials during a critical time. The funds collected were distributed between Food Banks Canada and local food banks to help provide essential support where it’s needed most.
Our holiday food drive wouldn’t be complete without a little friendly competition! Team West remains undefeated as champions, bringing in over $8,000 in financial donations and thousands of food items.
A special highlight was the annual Agape Table fundraiser, hosted in Winnipeg, which collected an astonishing 900 pounds of food and nearly $3,000 in cash donations. Their enthusiasm and creativity continue to inspire us all and set the bar high for next year’s drive.
One in three food bank users this holiday season will be children. This staggering statistic is a reminder of how vital food banks are for many families. Your contributions help ensure no one has to face the holidays without food on the table.
